Welcome back to WERC Seminars!

Our first seminar of the new year will kick off with flash talks by students who are funded by the Water Resources Research program:

Kristin Gagne: Sub-Arctic permafrost organic matter characterization and its implications on surface water biogeochemistry over a three-year seasonality study

Jason Clark: The Role Of Tundra Vegetation In The Arctic Water Cycle

Barabara Johnson"WEN" it powers it flows - An exploration of the Water-Energy Nexus (WEN) in rural Alaska.

Following the student presentations, Earl Greene (Director of the Water Resources Research Act Program, USGS) will give us a quick overview of the WRRA Program at USGS. There should be plenty of time to ask follow up questions and have discussions about possible ways to connect with USGS in Alaska.
