The Fresh Eyes on Ice project, including INE researcher Chris Arp, is being recognized for the community science it has fostered and its applicable outcomes for safety on river ice in this Smithsonian Magazine feature:

INE researchers Benjamin Jones and Phillip Wilson just completed their almost 1,986-mile (3,196 km) COAST-X traverse between Bethel and Utqiagvik connecting 15 communities along Alaska’s western and northern coasts and were featured on KNOM Radio:
