Alaska's Permafrost Farms

Permafrost Grown, a project led by WERC researcher Melissa Ward Jones, was recently featured in The New Yorker. The article titled The Surreal Abundance of Alaska’s Permafrost Farms discusses agriculture practices and history in Alaska. 

Ward Jones' five-year project aims to understand the interaction between farming and permafrost. The goal is to establish a best practices guide for farmers with permafrost on their land.
