The upcoming episode of the public television science series Nova follows several scientists from UAF as they seek to understand so-called "arctic sinkholes", which are openings created by underground methane explosions. Among the scientists featured are WERC research faculty Katey Walter Anthony and her Ph.D. student Nicholas Hasson.
The episode airs 9 p.m. Alaska time on Wednesday, Feb. 2 on KUAC TV 9.1 and will air again on KUAC at 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 6.
