Location & Travel

The 19th NRB Symposium & Workshop will be held in south-central Alaska in Talkeetna and Seward. Conference participants will arrive in Anchorage, travel north to Talkeetna, continue south to Seward and then return back to Anchorage. Participants MUST arrive in Anchorage on August 11, 2013 no later than 11am (US flights) or 10 am (international flights - allow adequate time for customs and passport control) in order to catch the bus to Talkeetna on the August 11, 2013 at 1pm.

For return flights on August 17, 2013, the earliest departure would be around 3pm to allow ample time for check-in and security. The bus back to Anchorage will leave Seward at 10am and arrive at the Anchorage airport around 1pm.

The location of the conference will offer participants a chance to experience the Alaskan Sub-Arctic and observe coastal watersheds dominated by snow-covered mountains and glaciers. The weather can be nice and warm, but be prepared for cool and rainy weather as well. Participants should bring warm, water resistant clothing and suitable footwear.
