Why is the center of a pingo pure
ice?

My hypothesis is:
That a lake has permafrost under it when a lake freezes the
permafrost pushes the lake up to from a hill. Then winds push dirt onto the
hill-shaped lake and over time a pingo is formed.
- The
first one I did was when I took a plastic bowl and a baseball. I took some
sand and poured it into the bowl. Then I made an indentation with the
baseball. Next I poured water into the bowl and hole. I put it outside to
freeze.
- The
next one I did was that I made a smaller hole into the plastic bowl and I
put more water into the hole and bowl than the first one. Than I put a towel
over the bowl and put it into the freezer.
- In
the third experiment I did I got a metal bowl and put a small hole into the
sand. I put the most water than all my experiment into the bowl and hole. I
than put it outside.
