The University of Alaska Fairbanks, Water and Environmental Center (WERC) in cooperation with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Alaska District, (COE) are investigating ground-water and surface-water conditions on Fort Wainwright, Alaska. These investigations support the U.S. Army Alaska (USARAK). Project results are contributing to the understanding of ground-water flow in discontinuous permafrost environments and environmental hydrology in arctic climates. General resources are also provided to help environmental investigations on Fort Wainwright. Please contact WERC for additional information about project efforts or to obtain copies of project publications.
