Kougarok

Kougarok, frequently referred to as Quartz Creek, is located at the interior of the Seward Peninsula. Its vegetation ranges from tussock tundra to shrubs to areas of moss and lichens. The two watersheds being studied are Mauze Gulch (4.9 km^2) and Niagara Creek (6.2 km^2). Both sites offer similar vegetation types. There are three meteorological stations located in the area. K1 is a 3 meter tower recording near Niagara Creek. K2 is a 10 meter tower standing between the two sites. K3 is a 3 meter tower observing the weather near Mauze Gulch.
