About Phil
Dr. Philip Loring is a human ecologist with research interests in food systems, food security, environmental change, and environmental justice. His research is interdisciplinary in nature, integrating methods and perspectives from ecology, anthropology, geography, ethnobiology, and environmental history. His current research focus for the Alaska Center for Climate Assessment and Policy (ACCAP) is on coastal and marine resources in Alaska, including such topics as fisheries management, food sharing, and food insecurity in rural as well as urban settings.
