A registration deadline is near for two UAF courses that may be of interest to working engineers and technical professionals:
Engineering Economics
This course deals with economic decisions about capital projects. Listed as ESM 605, this is a three credit course that meets Tuesdays from 6 to 9 PM on campus. Sign-up on-line before 6:00pm Friday evening to avoid a late fee of $50. Late registrants must be able to attend the course on Tuesday, January 31st. If taken as a Continuing Professional Development course (CPD), this is an academic class, which garners CPD credit at triple the hourly rate of non-academic seminars. If interested or with questions, please contact Bob Perkins at (907) 474-7694, or via email at: raperkins@alaska.edu .
Project Proposals
This course deals with writing strong ethical proposals for qualifications-based selection. It will also discuss many of the communication issues that are important for people who do not submit formal proposals, but still need to give presentations and directions to others. The six-week, one-credit course meets Tuesdays from 3:00 to 5:15 PM. If taken as a Continuing Professional Development course (CPD), this is an academic class, which garners CPD credit at triple the hourly rate of non-academic seminars. Late registrants must attend the class meeting Tuesday, January 31st, even if they register next week (Please contact instructor in advance, if this is the case). Sign up on line or contact Keith Whitaker at (908) 474 7497, or by email at: kwhitaker@alaska.edu .
